Teenagers & Dating ... Huh?

Today, I took my first steps in cutting the apron strings of my 14 yr old. Yes, my lil baby has now started his lil legs on the 'Grown Up Trail'. My son, Danny ... set up a date with his GF for the movies & popcorn. Of course I provided the taxi, cash and manners (I think!). I taxi'ed my son & nephew (last minute addition) to the local movies, they were to meet up with their girlfriends & the girls tag-a-longs... You know what I mean...the friends who tag along to give support or the evil eye (as the case may be) while your trying to NOT act the 'un-cool' way in front of your boyfriend type of thing. So...the movie started at 7:25. Since I'm always trying to be on time everytime. Here I go pushing to pre-teen'ers out the door at 6:50 ... What time do we actually get to the van? 7:15. Hey! I can do it...I just need the cash ready and hanging out the window as I drive by the stationary cops... "Yep, here ya go officer...." ! Well the deal was, Danny and his gf (Tricia) were going to watch "The Uninvited". Seems the gf is SCARED of movies like this. So her and her tag-a-longs all go in and start watching "Hotel For Dogs" at 7:05 and texts my son that its alright if Danny and his tag-a-longs go and watch the "The Uninvited" and to meet outside in the lobby afterwards. So THAT was my sons FIRST real date.... mmmmmmmm..... They go to the same school together. Txt, email and IM each other 24/7; if we let them... I guess its not all bad...I handed out $22 so my son can come back home with $15 in his pocket and tells me that he practiced 'safe-sex' (yea, we 'talked') tonight. Think I'll take a pill and then try to work out where the 'Date' went ... but NOT the $$. Would this count as a cheap date on his or her part? lol
